This is the riskiest post I’ve ever written.
I am about to break my own cardinal rule of never talking about politics or religion in my newsletter. And even though I am not political, I can’t help but talk about politics to illustrate my point.
Here it goes:
In my opinion, one of the main reasons our political system is broken is because its design has been co-opted by politicians who put most of their time, energy and resources into getting re-elected and holding power rather than on serving the people they are meant to serve. Politicians make promises and then make back-room deals, placing their own interests of staying in power (or getting elected in the first place) way above what they are there for in the first place being in service to their tribe, their constituents.
