Would you like a FULL scholarship to my upcoming program?

I just opened up a contest where one business owner will receive a FULL
scholarship to my upcoming Client Mastery Blueprint program.

(In case you haven’t read up on what Client Mastery Blueprint is all about,
you can do so here:
http://www.ClientMasteryBlueprint.com/program

Why am I giving away a place, when there are a very limited number places in this program and we’re nearly half sold out?

It’s because I wanted to help someone who could really use this powerful coaching to take a big leap forward in their business. In my very first program I gave a free scholarship, and I was absolutely touched and inspired by the note I received from the recipient afterwards. So I know how a “lucky break” like this can make a difference in someone’s life.

Here’s What To Do

1. Post your entry in the comments section below, answering these 3 questions:
– What results do you want for your business in 12 months?
– How will Client Mastery Blueprint help you get there?
– Why is it that you should be chosen?

(NOTE: Be sure to put include your email address when you are filling out the comment form, so that we can contact you).

2. You can post your entry as text or as a YouTube video. We know that some people are better at writing, some are better at speaking. Just be sure to include a your YouTube link in your blog comment.

3. I’ll review all entries and select the person that clearly communicates the clearest vision and most compelling inspiration for making a big step forward in their business.

4. Put your entry in the comments section by midnight, Monday, October 19th.

I’ll select the winner and let him or her know by Wednesday, October 21th – hopefully you’ll be the one!

What You Win

You win a FULL scholarship for the Client Mastery Blueprint gold membership
(this program is worth $10,278).

If you win, be prepared to follow through and be an active and fully committed participant in the Client Mastery Blueprint program.

This is an amazing opportunity to attend a 6-month, hands-on coaching and training program filled with practical how-to guidance so you can attract all of the clients that you want while doing what you love. I’m teaching my own system for attracting and retaining clients so you’re going to get exactly what you need to make a big jump forward and generate more revenue for your business.

If you haven’t read up on what Client Mastery Blueprint is all about, you can do so here:

http://www.ClientMasteryBlueprint.com/program

What this all boils down to: you’ll be learning the same mindsets, strategies, and action steps I’ve used to create a business in which I brought on 4 other coaches to help me serve all of the prospects and clients I attract. This is a gift that I can’t wait to share with you.

Good luck!
Bill

PS Go ahead and do your entry now – even if yours doesn’t win, I’ll honor your intention and commitment with a special gift.

So no matter what happens, you win!

The Business Secrets of a Poker Player

“If one is master of one thing and understands one thing well, one has at the same time, insight into and understanding of many things.”Vincent Van Gogh

Why is mastery important?

There is a difference between knowing how to do something and being a master of it. There is a difference between dabbling in something and being a master of that pursuit.

I know how instrumental this mind shift has been for me in my life.
And naturally, I just want to share with you some of what I’ve learned.

Here’s an example – my path towards mastering getting clients:

  • I learned to see the whole picture of what it takes to get clients anytime, anywhere (my system)
  • I committed myself to a relentless pursuit of learning everything that’s relevant for me on that subject (pieces of the puzzle)
  • I learned to say no to other things while I was in the throws of my pursuit (focus)
  • I also gave absolutely all of me while I was with my clients and always put them first (it’s not about me)
  • I never gave up even when it seemed like I was going to fail (perseverance)

There have been tremendous tangible benefits to this pursuit. I have an overflowing practice and a coaching company with 5 successful coaches. I now know what works and what doesn’t work as far as getting and keeping clients. I have the confidence that I can get clients. The freedom that gives me is huge. And most importantly to me, I now have intimate knowledge of the mechanics of success and the confidence that I can be successful with anything I commit myself to.

What I learned by playing poker

I have recently got into playing poker. I love the game. There are a lot of moving parts and it takes a lot to master. I have to know the cards. I have to know myself. I have to know the people I playing with. I have to know the situation. It’s complicated and I love it.

I can talk about poker all day, but one important thing I have noticed is that many of the top players were once champions and winners at other games/sports – chess, backgammon, bridge and even basketball.

In this past World Series of Poker, Jordan Farmar, a point guard for the Lakers basketball team, made it to Day 3 of the event. I have played in the tournament and I know how difficult it is to get to Day 3.

What’s remarkable about Farmer’s great poker run is that he learned to play poker just a few days prior to the tournament. He already knows what it takes to win. He knows what it takes to be a masterful point guard. And he converted that to doing well at the World Series of Poker.

When you commit to mastering one thing, you commit to being successful.

Another example of this is Josh Waitzkin. He was a Junior chess champion and now he is a Martial Arts champion. I’ve heard him mention in interviews that he sees no difference for himself between chess and martial arts. He understands mastery and the rest is simply picking what he wants to be a master of.

“There’s this wonderful buddhist story, an ancient Indian story, and basically the parable is this: If a man wants to walk across the Earth, and the Earth is covered with thorns, he has two answers, he has two possible solutions: He can cover the entire Earth with leather, which will take a lot of time – that’s the external solution – or he can make sandals, that’s the internal solution. And I really believe in making sandals.”Josh Waitzkin

So when you commit to mastery, you don’t just master that one thing, you learn how to master anything… and thorns will not stand in your way.

When you can make a mindshift from attaining your goals to being a master of what you chose to take on, not only do your goals come to you more effortlessly, but you learn how turn anything you want into gold.

What can you do now?

  • Decide if mastery is important to you
  • Pick something that you want to master
  • Commit to getting on the road to mastering that which you just picked
  • Identify what the first step is on the road to mastery
  • Start walking

“Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person.”Albert Einstein

Here’s to mastery!!

Entrepreneurs Strike Back

I don’t know about you, but I often wonder what happens to the results when someone asks me to take a survey.  Ill let you in on what we did with ours.  Before I get to that, I want to thank you for taking the time to take our survey.

I know how valuable your  time is and I am thankful that you lent a few minutes of it to give us your opinions.
I thought it might be useful to you to actually see the survey results.  I found it interesting how many of you have similar concerns.

One of the things that struck me was the *variety* of business topics that you have questions about.
And certain topics clearly stood out as being important for you.  For example, our survey respondents had a strong interest in having a marketing plan for their business and having web sites that capture clients better. As for personal mastery, there was a clear desire to be more focused and practicing better time management.

**If you have any observations about the survey results, please share in the comments below.**

Question 1: Its not enough to develop your business. Your own personal development (your “personal mastery”) is critical too. Which aspects of personal mastery would you be interested in working on? Which would have the most impact for you? [Please choose ALL that apply.]

Question 2: There are many valuable business and marketing tools for generating new clients and more revenue and traffic to your business. Which of these would you have the most interest in learning about for your business? [Please choose ALL that apply.]

For Coaches Only: You owe it to the world to be successful

I just read a statistic that less than 10% of all coaches earn six figures of income in a year.
I find this statistic frustrating!

I’ve talked to many struggling coaches who could be bringing their gifts and talents to a lot more people than they are now.

And I know the one main thing that stops them in business – they are using the wrong strategies to grow their practice. Conversely, successful coaches use the right strategies to make their business successful.

It’s that simple.

So I want to take a minute to share some of my top strategies that I’ve used over the years to fill my practice, create new programs, and go beyond six figures.

And if there was one specific strategy virtually any coach, consultant, speaker, etc. could use to quickly get new clients and generate new sales – even in this economy – would you want to know about it? Read on…

1. Invest into being a better businessperson, not just being a better coach

If you have gifts and talents – then it’s your moral obligation to use them to serve others. Building a successful business and practice is how you do this. The key thing is to work on your business, not just in your business (to paraphrase Michael Gerber).

2. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel yourself

It has always been strange to me that many coaches will invest thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into learning how to be a great coach from experts (a good strategy).

But then try to figure out how to create a successful business from scratch on their own (a very difficult and time-consuming way to go, as you may have noticed).

I want you to answer two simple questions:

(a) how much money and time have you invested into your coaching training?

(b) how much money and time have you invested into your business training?
(training = learning from an expert who has already been tremendously successful in their area of training)

The answer will be reflected in your bank account. (Yes, this is a tough love email.)

I’ve given up trying to figure it all out on my own. Instead, I make a point of learning what I don’t know from those who are a proven success.

For example, I’ve learned a lot about Internet Marketing from people like Eben Pagan, whom I shared with you in my last email. And now, I get all of my clients from the internet. I never do networking or other similar strategies that are taught to new coaches. Instead, I’m using more “advanced” business strategies I’ve learned from very successful coaches.

3. Get trained by others who have been successful

Every once in a while I receive an email from someone on my newsletter list complaining that I frequently “promote” the knowledge of other experts. “Bill, why are you always promoting somebody?”

Here’s what they are missing: most of the key strategies I’ve used to grow my business and to grow as a person, I’ve learned from someone else!

I’m not at all ashamed to admit it. To the contrary, it’s typical that successful business people give credit to other people for contributing to their success.

I’m going to get real here. I want to share with you the knowledge of people who have made a radical difference in my business and life. And if someone prefers to stay in their comfort zone, I would ask them to unsubscribe from my list. If you stay on my list, we’ll have fun, learn from each other, and so forth. But it’s not my intention to provide a comfort zone experience.

I don’t want to see entrepreneurs continue to struggle because they stick to using business strategies that don’t work!

4. Adopt proven business strategies that work better than what you are doing now

If your practice – or your bank account – isn’t where you want it to be, then your current business growth strategies need to shift. Makes sense, right?

Over the next several months, I’m going share “advanced” business strategies to take your practice to the next level. Some are mine, some are from other experts. By the way, I call them advanced not because they are difficult, but because 95% of coaches aren’t using them, mainly because they don’t know how to put these strategies into place successfully.

This month, I want to share to with you the strategy of *group coaching*. I’ve recruited Mary Allen (who many of you may know as “Life Coach Mary”) and Eva Gregory, who are experts on this topic. I’ve admired their work for a while and we first became “friends” on Facebook. Now I’m excited to be sharing their expertise with you.

On Tuesday June 2, I want to invite you to a special telecall with Mary and Eva as my guests.  We’re going to delve deep into the topic of earning more as a professional coach. Mary and Eva will share their own personal secrets and success strategies on how they have both created an income beyond six figures as a life coach. And specifically, they are going to give you the inside scoop on group coaching.

  • How Mary went from $30K in debt to $20K in savings in just 9 months.
  • How Eva Gregory, Mary’s partner in this project, “accidentally” became an expert in hosting group coaching programs.
  • The 3 Big Reasons why most coaches aren’t offering group coaching programs.
  • 7 Indisputable FACTS why every coach should be leading their own group coaching programs.
  • Bill is going to “grill” Mary on her insider secrets (and share a few of his own).
  • And, a surprise insight that you’re only going to hear on this call!

If that’s not enough, I’m going to be their guinea pig for part of the call, as they coach me on applying their advanced business strategies. I’m going to get grilled, and we’re all going to learn a lot. You won’t want to miss this part!

Accidental Entrepreneur

Not every entrepreneur gets into business for the same reasons. Some want to make a lot of $. Some see an opportunity and go for it. Some generate tons of ideas and want to see one (or more) come alive. And a growing number of entrepreneurs come to it accidentally.

Habitual Entrepreneurs: They start out with a goal is to own a business. They often care less what the business does, as long as it’s a successful company. They have strong business goals. They may own many companies in their career. They are proud to call themselves entrepreneurs.

Accidental Entrepreneurs: They are not satisfied with the corporate culture. They are passionate about a particular belief and have a very strong worldview. They often start out doing something they enjoy with no initial ambition to start a company. Accidental entrepreneurs often describe taking the leap of being self-employed as taking the power back after not being satisfied working for someone else because they had to follow someone else’s culture and rules. They love that in creating their own business they got to be in full control of it and their lives as well. They are proud to define themselves by their passions, causes and beliefs. The ranks of accidental entrepreneur are growing.

Which entrepreneur are you?
